McLaren Physician Partners Recredentialing and 2024 W-9 Request

McLaren Physician Partners (MPP) is a National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) certified organization for Credentialing and Recredentialing. This accreditation is designed to ensure that organizations provide a comprehensive framework to implement best practices that helps them accurately and efficiently credential and recredential health care professionals. NCQA requires MPP to recredential its members every three years.

Why is recredentialing important? It allows continued membership in an organization dedicated to supporting you and your practice in health care delivery.

Failure to recredential leads to many detrimental consequences like:

  • Inability to market your services with the contracted health plans – they depend on this information for patient selection of a provider – allowing their members to choose you and your services.
  • No access to revenue dollars
  • Termination from contracted health plans
  • Termination from MPP

The recredentialing process begins long before your recredentialing date:

  • 90 days before your recredentialing date, an email alert is sent to the providers email address and credentialing contact on file, indicating attention to the completion of the recredentialing material.
  • If no response, 60 days before your recredentialing date, a second email alert is sent to the provider email address and credentialing contact, indicating attention to the completion of the recredentialing material.
  • If no response, 30 days before your recredentialing date, a third and final email alert is sent to the provider email address and credentialing contact, indicating attention to the completion of the recredentialing material.
  • If no response, your contact information is provided to MPP Medical Leadership for follow-up.
  • If no response, certified mail is then sent to the office address(s) on file.

The recredentialing material mostly requires your signature and date. However, please review the material on the recredentialing information sheet for correctness and include any changes you may have had to your practicing location(s).

In addition, McLaren Physician Partners requires having a current W-9. Failure to comply with this may impact any incentive payments that you may be eligible for.

Please submit a signed and dated 2024 W-9 with your group’s Tax ID within 7 days of this mailing to comply with your annual requirement.
