McLaren Thumb Region Foundation Awards Scholarships to Local College-Bound, Health Care-Focused Students

McLaren Thumb Region, part of statewide McLaren Health Care and the critical access hospital providing for the health of its community, and its McLaren Thumb Region Foundation have awarded college-bound High School seniors with partial scholarships.

An annual recognition, scholarships are awarded to students who intend to study toward degrees in a health care field.

The 2025 recipients:
Emma Ramisch, Harbor Beach Community High School
Samantha Koehn, Harbor Beach Community High School
Bridget Anderson, Harbor Beach Community High School
Parker Ferreri, Caseville High School

Connie Koutouzos, President and CEO of McLaren Thumb Region, has said, “To seek a career in health care takes dedication and commitment, but more than anything, it’s a sign that this individual has a desire to help and care for others. The quality these students display make them very deserving, and we wish them the very best in their higher education and career pursuits.”

Working with local high school guidance counselors, the McLaren Thumb Region Foundation accepted and reviewed all scholarship applications, taking into consideration each applicant’s service to the community, academic achievement, and a submitted essay in which he or she discusses their area of interest and explains its importance in today’s society.

The McLaren Thumb Region Foundation will award three more scholarships next year to the class of 2026. Students can learn more about the application process by asking their counselor.
