Welcome to the McLaren Macomb Emergency Medicine Residency program and thank you for your interest. Our three-year ACGME accredited program was established in 1985 and has a longstanding history of graduating top notch EM physicians who practice all over the United States. We are a 288 acute bed level II trauma center, as well as chest pain and interventional stroke center. We are one of the busiest emergency departments treating more than 64,000 patients annually. All of this provides our residents with the foundation necessary to become qualified board-certified emergency physicians. The mission statement of McLaren-Macomb Emergency Residency Program is to provide each resident with the knowledge base, value set and clinical experience to provide compassionate and high-quality patient care. We aim to train emergency medicine physicians to be integrated into a community setting and serving a diverse socioeconomic group. The Emergency Residency training program at McLaren-Macomb is designed to educate physicians to provide quality and compassionate patient care. It is intended that the graduates of this program be qualified and eligible for certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. The program is 36 months in duration and complies with the ACGME. There are 20 board certified Emergency Medicine physicians that care for more than 200 major trauma cases per year. Approximately one third of the cases seen in the emergency center are pediatric patients. Strong relationships with many local hospitals including Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Beaumont Health System, and Sinai Grace provide residents with additional complete out rotations. The Emergency Center has a total of 43,735 square feet. Features include:

    • Private patient exam rooms
