Child Bereavement Program

at McLaren Northern Michigan

After the loss of a loved one, life is never the same. The pain, grief, and emptiness can be overwhelming, especially for children. The mission of the Child Bereavement Program is to enable children to acknowledge change and integrate loss with healthy grief and mourning. This is provided using supportive one-on-one therapy, group therapy, and in-service education to families, caregivers, schools, and the community.

Services are free, and can be provided in the Children’s Counseling Room at the Hiland Cottage, in homes, or in schools.
