McLaren Central Michigan Recognizes Cancer Survivors with National Survivors Day Celebration

McLaren Central Michigan, part of the statewide Karmanos Cancer Network through its Morey Cancer Center, is welcoming all local cancer survivors to share in a celebration of their triumphs over the illness on National Survivors Day on June 5.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., regardless of whether they were treated at McLaren Central Michigan, all cancer survivors are welcome to stop by the Morey Cancer Center to share their successes, celebrate the lives they have, and enjoy treats.

The first 100 survivors in attendance will also receive a special gift.

“We honor the strength and courage of those who have fought back against cancer on National Survivors Day,” said Nancy King, Regional Director of Cancer Services at McLaren Central Michigan. “Their perseverance and successes in the face of an incredible fight can serve as an example to our current patients that hope has real power and that healing is possible. Surviving and thriving in life is truly an achievement worth celebrating.”

The Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Central Michigan, Morey Cancer Center, will celebrate its 20th anniversary this fall of providing comprehensive medical and radiation oncology services to the central Michigan region.
