The 61st annual Charity Ball will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bay City Riverfront, downtown Bay City, on Saturday, December 1, 2018. The Charity Ball is sponsored by the McLaren Bay Region Auxiliary, and proceeds from this year’s event will be used to purchase 3D mammography equipment for the McLaren Bay Breast Surgery Center.
While mammograms do not prevent cancer, they can save lives by finding them as early as possible. Breast Surgeon Tari Stull, MD looks forward to having this new technology on hand.
“3D mammography has been proven to detect cancers that are smaller and at an earlier stage,” said Dr. Stull. “By taking three-dimensional images of the breast, 3D mammography will allow us to evaluate layer by layer with more detail. Studies have shown that this type of technology can detect 41% more invasive breast cancers and detect cancer 15 months earlier.”
The Charity Ball’s theme will be “Light of Hope,” and the evening will begin with an open bar from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Dinner will be held at 7:00 p.m. and the Ball begins at 8:30 p.m. A silent auction for various gift baskets will also be held from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
