Tracey Franovich, RN, MHA, has been named president and CEO of McLaren Oakland hospital, the 318-bed Pontiac-based hospital serving all of Oakland County. She assumes the role recently vacated by Margaret Dimond, who decided to pursue another opportunity.
Franovich begins her new role effective Jan. 3, 2022.
“Tracey is an innovative, strategic and dynamic leader that has consistently achieved positive results in highly competitive markets,” said Chad Grant, executive vice president and chief operating officer at McLaren Health Care. “She is an accomplished healthcare executive combining strong clinical and administrative experience with over 25 years of hands-on clinical, ambulatory and hospital experience.”
Coming from the non-profit Franciscan Alliance health system serving Indiana and south suburban Chicago, Franovich held several positions with increasing responsibility over her 17 years with the system. Most recently in the role of system vice president of operation transformation, she has also held the positions of vice president of operations/chief nursing officer and vice president and chief operating officer.
“Meeting with the leaders of this organization and getting to know more about McLaren, I was impressed with the system’s reach and capabilities, and enthusiastic about our opportunities to grow,” Franovich said. “I’m excited to be part of this system, joining this team at McLaren Oakland and beginning to work with an exceptional group of professionals.”
A nurse by training, she earned her degree from Purdue University while also completing a Bachelor’s in Allied Health Administration from Calumet College, a Master’s in healthcare administration from the University of St. Francis, and she is currently working toward her Master of Business Administration at St. Francis.
Franovich will oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations at the main hospital campus and all offsite facilities, including the McLaren Clarkston campus.
