McLaren Port Huron, along with its philanthropical arm, the McLaren Port Huron Foundation, are greeting the arrival of the holiday season with the 37th Annual Festival of Trees, a staple event in the community, with this year’s event debuting a Community Viewing of the Designer Trees and the return of the Teddy Bear Hospital.
Designer Trees will be on display at the Blue Water Convention Center for the Black-Tie Gala Friday night, as well as the Community Viewing of the trees on Saturday. The Designer trees will then be on display in the North and South lobby of McLaren Port Huron throughout the rest holiday season
Lit and fully decorated trees will be on display at McLaren Port Huron starting Mon., Dec. 8 and will ultimately be awarded through a raffle.
The Festival of Trees holds a long-standing tradition of raising funds to enhance the technology and the care that McLaren Port Huron is able to provide to our community. Last year, Festival of Trees made it possible for the hospital to purchase a state-of-the-art 3-D Cone Beam CT Machine. With this advanced technology our Pulmonary and Orthopedic Physicians now have a real-time, 3-D image that allows for an improved field of vision and better outcomes.
This year, Festival of Trees will raise funds to support a new K-9 Security Unit, enhancing the safety of employees, patients and visitors across the campus of McLaren Port Huron.
“We look forward to continuing to partner with community members in revitalizing this long-standing tradition in a new way,” said Karynn Carrell, McLaren Port Huron Director of Philanthropy. “We are excited to bring back a Community Viewing of the trees at the Blue Water Convention Center, as well as the beloved Teddy Bear Hospital. This is an absolutely wonderful time of year, and the Festival of Trees has become a tradition for so many, and we are very proud to be in the position to continue supporting this event.”
