Dr. John Beddies is a board-certified urologist at McLaren Northern Urology. He provides comprehensive urologic care with expertise in women's incontinence, BPH surgery, GreenLight laser therapy, prosthetic urology, and general urology. His previous practice received the GreenLight Center of Excellence designation for outstanding patient outcomes.
Dr. Beddies earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his urology residency at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville, serving as Chief Resident, and became board certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Beddies has served in multiple healthcare leadership roles, including Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Henry County Medical Center, and as Clinical Preceptor for Lincoln Memorial University. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences, and he received the Guardian Angel Award for Excellence in Patient Care.
Dr. Beddies believes in shared decision-making and empowering patients through education. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities, and values spending time with his wife and their three young boys.
