Overview

McLaren Health System is recruiting a Physiatrist for Medical Directorship of our IPR at our McLaren Flint Hospital that has supported eastern mid-Michigan’s communities for over 20 years. You will join two additional board-certified Physiatrists and one advance practice provider serving the unit. Job responsibilities include clinical oversight of the 20 bed IPR unit with the option to offer outpatient PMR services if desired. Daily census of 15 patients with five to ten new admissions per week. McLaren Flint’s IPR is a fully staffed unit and supported by PT and OT on the same floor. Resident coverage is available with Internal Medicine coverage of all patients.

This position offers Monday through Friday scheduling with 1:4 call – consult model offering home call. This dynamic and busy service line offers a highly collegial dyad support model that includes the physicians, Medical Director, and Program Director for the service. Candidates with fellowship training or an interest in Pain Management will be considered for program development. Qualified candidates must be BE/BC.

FACILITY HIGHLIGHTS
McLaren Flint is a 378-bed tertiary teaching facility located in Flint, Michigan, serving the medical needs of residents in greater Genesee County and Mideast Michigan. McLaren Flint is affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in its medical residency programs including family practice, internal medicine, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery. McLaren Flint also maintains fellowship programs in clinical health psychology, vascular surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and cardiology in partnership with MSU. The hospital is certified as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, a Gold Plus Comprehensive Stroke Center (Joint Commission), and a BCBSM Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine Surgery, Cardiac Care and OB services. Cancer accreditations include the American College of Radiology Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation and the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative, American Society of Clinical Oncology.
