In July 2017, Madison Miller was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship from the McLaren Lapeer Region Foundation and the hospital volunteers’ Bridge Club. Each year the Bridge Club donates their monthly club participation fees to the Foundation for the scholarship to be awarded to a Lapeer County resident studying in a patient care health related program.
Scholarship winner Madison Miller, a junior studying Medical Laboratory Sciences at Grand Valley State University said “One day I hope to give back to my community by working as a Physician’s Assistant and providing excellent patient care.”
She went on to say “I participate in undergraduate research, which is one of my favorite things. Without this scholarship, there was a chance I would have had to give up research in order to work more hours. So thank you for your generosity.”
