About Asmir

Born in Bosnia, Asmir believes he has been welcomed to a whole new world in the United States where he is able to use his skills to make a difference in people's lives.

Asmir came to work at McLaren Macomb in 2005 as a PCA but went to Henry Ford Macomb for a period of time.  He always missed McLaren. As he returned this past year he made a personal commitment to make a positive impact on the patients who come to McLaren Macomb for treatment.

Asmir is trained to read telemetry monitors. Along with other monitoring techs Asmir watches multiple monitors from a centralized office to identify changes in heart rhythms and patterns of patients. They then notify nursing immediately if a change occurs.

On a daily basis he is inspired by the satisfaction patients experience when he is able to meet their needs and expectations.  Asmir believes that maintaining a positive attitude helps him daily to treat patients with respect and kindness, and help them smile when they may be having a bad day. He believes in working hard every day. He also believes that patient satisfaction requires a team effort to make sure that patients know we are doing our best to help them recover.

According to his manager, Holly Schienke "Asmir truly is a shining star and an exceptional employee who is extremely valuable to the McLaren organization., If you see Asmir, you will never see him sitting down, he is always working.  I continually receive compliments from both patients and RN's about his care, genuine concern and his true love for his patients."
Recently Asmir responded to a patient who had gone into Ventricular Tachycardia. Asmir initiated CPR until others responded to assist with other interventions.

The patient survived and had a complete recovery. And even though the patient woke up and did not remember anything that had happened Asmir's revealed it was a moment he will never forget.

When he's not working Asmir enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Committed and dedicated to his job he is also interested in being an ambassador here at McLaren Macomb.
