MEMORANDUM

FROM: Kirk Ray, President and CEO

Date: June 28, 2021

McLaren Greater Lansing is excited to announce that we have entered a partnership with Michigan State University Health Care (MSUHC) to oversee the Inpatient Geropsychiatry Unit at McLaren Greater Lansing starting August 1, 2021. The additional physicians and psychiatry expertise of MSUHC will enhance the care provided a tour facility as well as the strengthen our residency program. Further, it will allow us to increase the capacity of patients at our hospital to better serve the psychiatric needs of the community we serve.

We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Casher for his years of dedication to the Geropsychiatric Evaluation and Management Services (GEMS) program providing emotional and mental health care for older adults and look forward to his continued involvement.

MSUHC will be recruiting a full-time physician who will serve as the Medical Director and will be accompanied by an additional part-time physician. Both positions will be involved with the existing GME program and we will begin having residents rotating in our psychiatry unit.

In March 2022 we will move into our new modern facilities providing a new home for our Psychiatric program. Our partnership with MSUHC at our state-of-the-art teaching hospital will attract and retain talent for years to come.

This is one of the many partnerships with MSUHC which directly aligns with our commitment to continuous improvement and quality care. Other arrangements with MSUHC elevating care at McLaren Greater Lansing include medical oncology, radiology, gynecologic oncology, vascular surgery, urology, oncology, and more. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to McLaren and the community we serve.
