McLaren Health Care has presented its annual President’s Trophy to Karmanos Cancer Institute, recognizing the Detroit-based, nationally renowned cancer center with the statewide health care system’s most prestigious honor as its top-performing subsidiary.
Karmanos earned this celebrated recognition through its teams’ performance in vital clinical quality and patient safety metrics, while also accounting for patient experience and satisfaction, operational excellence, research impact, and financial stewardship.
“Earning this award is an extraordinary honor and a testament to the unwavering dedication our physicians, nurses, administrative staff, researchers, clinical trial teams, and support staff demonstrate every day,” said Dr. Boris Pasche, President and CEO of Karmanos Cancer Institute. “The President’s Trophy reminds us that when we keep our purpose front and center and place patient care above all else, excellence follows. I am deeply grateful to everyone whose daily efforts made this achievement possible.”
For the next year, the black granite and crystal trophy will stand on public display at Karmanos Cancer Institute, which also anchors the Karmanos Cancer Network, a statewide provider of cancer care services.
A tradition since 2009 and a physical representation of a staff’s collective accomplishments, McLaren Health Care annually awards the President’s Trophy to the McLaren subsidiary that exceeds expected performance and achieves the highest overall scores against established goals.
