February is National Cancer Prevention Month

In 2020 in Michigan, it is projected there will be 61,770 new cases of cancer and 21,000 people will die from cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, from 1991-2016 there were nearly 2.6 million (a decline of 27 percent) fewer cancer deaths. A significant proportion of the drop is due to steady reductions in smoking and advances in early detection and treatment. Be a part of this positive trend!

While some cancer risks are not within our control, there are several things that we can do to decrease our risks and promote a healthy lifestyle.
