Huron Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Johnston as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Michael holds a Doctorate in Management from the University of Phoenix as well as an MBA from Thomas More College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Press Ganey Process and Performance Improvement Advisory Group. Michael has been a frequent speaker on operations leadership topics at conferences throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Most recently, Michael has served as Vice President of Corporate Operations with Carolinas Healthcare System in North Carolina. Previously, Michael served as Vice President of Network Operations for the Trinity Health System as well as Plant Manager roles in several manufacturing operations both in the United States and Europe.
Michael and his wife Sarah are parents to three children; Kristen, Thomas and Evie. In addition, they have two dogs; Lizzie and Bella. The Johnston family enjoys traveling and Michael is an avid Purdue Boilermaker fan.

We knew this was the right place to be. The Huron County area and hospital system are poised with unlimited potential for growth and the excitement in the system and community is palpable. I cannot wait to get started!”

I would also like to express our gratitude to William Mayes who recently retired as President and CEO and Matt Rick who has served as Interim CEO for the past three months, each of whom did an outstanding job in leading the organization.”
Dr. Johnston began work at HMC on March 5, 2018.
