McLaren Bay Medical Foundation will host the fourth annual 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Uptown Bay City.
The 5K Walk/Run will take place at 9:00 a.m., with awards given to the top finisher in each age category. Medals will also be awarded to all finishers. Snacks and beverages will be provided after the event, and all participants will be entered into a random prize drawing that will take place after race.
New this year, participants can opt to register for a Virtual 5K Walk/Run, where participants complete a 5K (walk or run) and submit their completion time.
All participants are eligible to attend a Health and Wellness Fair that will take place on Saturday, May 11 from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the McLaren Bay Region Karmanos Cancer Institute. The fair includes free health screenings, prize drawings and valuable health and fitness information. Available screenings/tests include glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, BMI, pulse, body fat, joint test, sleep disorder risk assessment and many more.
Registration is now open online at bit.ly/MBMF5k2019, with early registration discounts available until April 1.
Advanced registration for the 5K Walk/Run begins at $25 and includes a t-shirt. Registration for the Virtual 5K is $50 and includes a running jacket. Special pricing is available for those who register for both the 5K and the Virtual 5K and for children 18 and under.
All proceeds from this event will go toward the purchase of a state-of-the-art Tomosynthesis 3D Mammography system for the McLaren Bay Region Breast Surgery Center, which will improve early detection of cancer and help save lives.
