McLaren Central Michigan, part of statewide McLaren Health Care and Isabella County’s leading health care provider, has added Kelly DeBolt to its leadership team as the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer.
Leading a staff of more than 100 nurses, DeBolt assumes the role previously held by Jeannie Sage, who decided to pursue other opportunities outside of McLaren.
To her new position, DeBolt brings nearly 20 years of experience in health care, nearly half of which involved direct patient care as a bedside nurse and, most recently, as a hospital chief executive.
“Kelly brings a unique and exceptional perspective to this role – a combination of clinical insight, energy, operations expertise and a passion for Quality of Care and Patient Experience,” said Robert David, McLaren Central Michigan President and CEO. “She has a deep understanding of what our nurses need to provide great care and comfort to the patients we are privileged to serve. We are very lucky to have Kelly here at McLaren Central Michigan.”
Prior to joining McLaren in Mount Pleasant, DeBolt led Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw for nearly four years as its CEO. Overseeing all aspects of the hospital’s operations, her tenure leading the organization saw its development and expansion of care services, streamlined processes and procedures, and helped foster an organizational culture focused on quality patient care.
DeBolt began her career serving patients at their bedside, joining a hospital nursing staff once she earned her nursing degree — initially on a medical-surgical unit before moving to the hospital’s intensive care unit and providing a more critical level of care. She then moved into clinical support roles, first as a risk management specialist and physician liaison before joining Select Specialty as a Director of Business Development, ultimately earning promotion to CEO.
DeBolt earned an Associates Degree from Delta College and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Ferris State University before continuing her education with a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Saginaw Valley State University.
