McLaren Flint is pleased to announce June’s Outstanding Employee of the Month, resource nurse Kim Persails, RN. Leadership honored Kim during an early July ceremony.
Kim is a 30-year veteran at McLaren Flint. As a resource nurse, she works in different departments throughout the hospital. During one of her recent shifts, Kim worked in the emergency department. Her professionalism and compassion deeply impressed a regular emergency room nurse that evening.
“I was completely in awe of Kim,” Her nominator said. “To be clinically sound while being so compassionate is everything I want to be as a nurse. Seeing her provide that level of care under stressful circumstances restored my faith.”
For Kim, it is all in a day’s work as a nurse.
“It is my job to show empathy and compassion toward patients and their loved ones’ in their time of need,” Kim said, “Sometimes a hug or even holding their hand in silence is necessary in our jobs as nurses.”
McLaren Flint managers, directors, and executive leadership nominate Outstanding Employee of the Month candidates. Award criteria are the hospital's mission and core values: contribution to culture and core values, teamwork, going the extra mile, outstanding patient service, performance excellence, and commitment.
