McLaren Lapeer Region adds leading-edge surgical technology

LAPEER COUNTY, Mich.—McLaren Lapeer Region, the 222-bed acute care hospital serving all of Lapeer County, has added a piece of advanced surgical technology that will provide surgeons with more defined imaging during procedures and aid in greater accuracy and enhanced clinical outcomes.

Utilizing the anatomical map provided by the O-Arm Surgical Imaging System, McLaren Lapeer Region surgeons will have the advantage of 3D images created by the unit to develop a surgical plan as the procedure progresses.

Integrating with the O-arm is the StealthSystem navigation unit, a surgical platform to provide the surgeon with the enhanced images and real time patient data.

“During any procedure, precision is critically important,” said Dr. Ryan Barrett, a neurosurgeon with McLaren Lapeer Region. “This technology will provide continuous information and images as the procedure progresses, which allows us to perform with a level of precision that directly benefit our patients.”

This technology will be used for neurological and orthopedic spine procedures at McLaren Lapeer Region.

“Our commitment is to always provide our patients with technology capable of performing procedures that aid in positive clinical results,” said Chris Candela, president and CEO of McLaren Lapeer Region. “We’re proud and excited to be able to add this technology to our advanced surgical capabilities and pass its benefits along to our patients.”
