McLaren Flint is pleased to announce February’s Outstanding Employee of the month, Kim Wascher, a medical assistant. Wascher was presented the honor by hospital leadership on March 3, 2022.
“I am very honored to receive this award,” Wascher said. “As much as I wasn’t expecting any type of recognition for my work during the transition to McLaren Flint’s new electronic medical record system, I have to admit it really felt good to know that my hard work didn’t go unnoticed.
“What I love about my job is the team I work with here at the McLaren Bariatric and Metabolic Institute and the dedication we all have to help patients reach their goals. Over the past 12 years of working here, I am so thankful to my managers and coworkers for making this department a place I want to come to every day.”
Her manager stated, “I wanted to share how amazing Kim has been during the scheduling of patients from our previous electronic medical record system to our new one. Kim has gone above and beyond in her approach to moving patients from one system to the other. She was always positive and patient when supporting team members during this recent migration period. When something stumped her, she found the answer and shared what she had learned with the team. While we continue to learn the system, Kim is absolutely one of our best assets here in the office and we would be lost without her can-do attitude and moral support!”
The Outstanding Employee of the Month candidates are nominated by managers, directors, and McLaren Flint’s executive leadership team. Criteria for nomination are based on the hospital’s mission and core values: contribution to culture and core values, teamwork, going the extra mile, outstanding patient service, performance excellence, and commitment.
