McLaren Northern Michigan is pleased to announce that VitalCare, the hospital’s home care, hospice, private duty, home medical equipment, and adult day center affiliate, will be adopting the McLaren name starting January 1, 2018.
The new name, McLaren Home Care & Hospice, will encompass the VitalCare Home Care and Hospice services, while still preserving the hospice house namesakes of Hiland Cottage and Cheboygan Hospice House. The Gaylord, Petoskey, and Cheboygan Home Medical Equipment stores will be renamed as McLaren Home Medical Equipment, and the Petoskey adult day care services will become McLaren Adult Day Center. All current colleagues will continue in their roles in the hospice houses, stores, and throughout northern Michigan and the Eastern Upper Peninsula providing home health, hospice, and private duty care.
“We have been part of the McLaren Northern Michigan network for over 20 years. With this name change, our patients will only need to remember one name for their health care needs… McLaren,” stated Laura Daniel, MSN, RN, CHPCNA, CEO of McLaren Home Care & Hospice. “We will continue to provide the personalized care that our patients and community expect and deserve.”
