Tamara Collins, vice president of marketing and business development at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, is listed among the 2023 Crain’s Detroit Business’ Notable Leaders in Marketing. The publication announced the list on Monday, April 24.
Appointed to vice president in January, Collins has demonstrated outstanding contributions in elevating the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center’s mission-driven vision and reputation as the brand of choice for cancer care. Much of Collins’ career has been in the healthcare industry in the field of oncology. Her career reflects her deeply personal and professional loyalty to sharing awareness on the importance of cancer research and development, community education, prevention and screening, and access to novel treatment options only available at academic-affiliated centers.
As the head of marketing and business development at Karmanos, Collins develops and implements annual strategic marketing plans for McLaren Health Care’s cancer services brand, including all services, geographic markets, and aligned partners and stakeholder groups. She guides decision-making and market intelligence to leadership within the 15 locations throughout the Karmanos Cancer Network, stretching as far north as Petoskey and south as Maumee, Ohio.
The Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Leaders in Marketing recognizes professionals who make an impact through their role, effect change, are role models and mentors to their colleagues, demonstrate and practice diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, and are active members and leaders professionally and civically.
