Karmanos Dr. Ammar Sukari: A Voice for the Voiceless

Ammar Sukari, M.D., medical oncologist and leader of the Head and Neck Multidisciplinary Team at Karmanos Cancer Institute, has family members in Aleppo, Syria. Dr. Sukari was recently interviewed by WDIV Local 4’s Paula Tutman as part of a special story to raise awareness of how people in Michigan can help those in Aleppo. “It was not easy to tell my personal, sad story,” said Dr. Sukari. “I hoped to give a voice for the voiceless and bring more attention to the Syrian tragedy – a humanitarian crisis. We can all do something to help.”
