Melissa Zimel, M.D., member of the Sarcoma Oncology Multidisciplinary Team at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. As an orthopedic oncologist, Dr. Zimel is trained to biopsy and surgically remove malignant and benign bone and soft tissue tumors in the arms, legs, pelvis, back, and trunk. She also treats patients with metastatic cancer to the bone and performs surgical fixation of pathologic and impending fractures. Dr. Zimel performs complex joint reconstruction with custom implants for patients requiring removal of a cancerous bone tumor.
