Margaret Dimond, Ph.D., president and CEO of McLaren Oakland, the 328-bed acute care provider serving all of Oakland County, has been invited to share her advice, experiences, and offer encouragement during upcoming speeches on women and leadership.

Hosted virtually, Dimond has been invited to open the second annual Cultivating Women Leader’s Speaker Series, a program by the Olivet College Women’s Leadership Institute (Sept. 2 at 1 p.m.) and Women on Leadership, Health & Wellness, a panel organized by the Michigan State University College of Social Science (Sept. 10 at 6 p.m.).
Dimond’s speeches will focus on the roles communication and confidence play in women determined to ascend to leadership positions in their given careers.
“I’ve been fortunate in my career to grow in my roles and be presented with opportunities to progress and be given greater responsibilities,” Dimond said. “These opportunities, though, come as a result of hard work and dedication to your profession, and if I can relate my story to young people about to start their careers, and if it can help in any way, I welcome the chance to do so and am grateful for it.”
Aimed to inspire, the speeches are open to anyone interested in attending virtually.
Dimond assumed her current CEO position at McLaren Oakland in 2017, and has held healthcare executive positions for a large portion of her career, including president of Karmanos Cancer Institute and president and CEO of the McLaren Medical Group, among others.
Organizing presentations throughout the year, the Olivet College Cultivating Women Leaders Speaker Series brings local and national women in leadership positions to discuss obstacles and challenges in today’s workforce.
Joining Dimond on the MSU panel will be wellness expert Carrie Dorr and Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, director of the Pediatric Public Health Initiative.
