About McLaren Fenton

Emergency care is now closer to home for the residents of southern Genesee and Northern Livingston counties. A 24/7 ER, located at 2420 Owen Road, Fenton, began caring for patients in spring 2020. McLaren is proud to have expanded our high-quality emergency care, especially our cardiac and stroke services to this location. The project was an investment and commitment to the community of more than $12 million.

The entire Owen Road facility was renovated, and that provided the opportunity for more patient services to be housed at the location. In addition to the ER, the addition of imaging services to the building and a new lab benefit both emergency center patients and the patients who are cared for by the primary care physicians also located at the facility.

In spring 2021, not only did the facility celebrate its one-year anniversary, it also became an American College of Radiology designated lung cancer screening center and mammography accredited facility. In summer 2021, MRI testing became available to patients at this location and weekend appointments for imaging services were also added.

Telestroke

Telestroke - As part of the McLaren Stroke Network, interventional neurologists utilize a telemedicine “robot” to provide consultative services within minutes of notification by onsite emergency physicians. The TeleStroke System allows the interventional neurologist to beam into the patient’s bedside from a remote location and assess the patient, review CT scan images and discuss best options for the patient with onsite physicians and the patient’s family. This telemedicine technology ensures that patients have access to rapid decision-making for treatment during the critical period following the onset of stroke symptoms. This technology assures that clinical therapies such as clot removal and clot busting drugs can be applied quickly and effectively, resulting in better outcomes for the patient in regaining blood flow to affected areas in the brain, thus minimizing long term disability. With McLaren’s TeleStroke network, stroke patients benefit from speedier diagnoses, faster care, and a better chance of recovery. We're proud to offer this high level of neurologic intervention for stroke patients.

Online self-scheduling / patient check-in

Online self-scheduling and check-in will also be offered to reduce patients’ wait times in the emergency department. This scheduling system lets patients with non-life threatening or debilitating conditions select an arrival time and stay at home until their treatment time arrives.
