McLaren Central Michigan expands lab services with new location

McLaren Central Michigan, 118-bed acute care hospital serving all of central Michigan, is further investing in the community with an expansion of its laboratory services. McLaren Central Michigan Laboratory Services, a walk-in lab draw station in the Central Michigan Health Park, opens Oct. 10.

Located on Health Parkway, along Remus Road between Crapo and Isabella, the new build increases access to the hospital’s care and its services.

"Our motivation is always to increase the access of services to the community," said Robert G. David, McLaren Central Michigan President and CEO. "Our neighbors in Mount Pleasant, Isabella County and the surrounding areas deserve first-rate quality and convenient health care, and this investment is our latest effort to provide that for them."

For their convenience, patients in need of blood work can avoid the main campus of McLaren Central Michigan in favor of ease and accessibility of the Health Parkway-based location. Once drawn, samples will still be transported via health care courier to the hospital-based lab or, depending on the test, to the McLaren Health Care Corporate Laboratory.

The new location will be staffed by Lori Hackett and Cindy Onstott, a pair of compassionate and longtime McLaren laboratory technicians.

Patients utilizing this newest off-site location will experience the same level of care, proficiency and expertise that has earned McLaren Central Michigan numerous national patient safety and quality recognitions.

The new location is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. A physician referral is needed for an appointment. For more information, please call (989) 772-6776.
