McLaren Greater Lansing, part of McLaren Health Care, and MSU Health Care have partnered to bring one of the largest imaging facilities to mid-Michigan. Through this joint venture, MSU Health Care will be relocating its imaging services, previously at the Clinical Center at 804 Service Road in East Lansing, to the new MSU Health Care at McLaren Greater Lansing Outpatient Imaging Center.
This state-of-the-art facility utilizes 22,632 sq. ft. of space located in the Izzo Family Medical Center, situated on the McLaren Greater Lansing Health Care Campus within the University Health Park. Patients will be seen starting June 26, 2023.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with McLaren Greater Lansing,” said Colleen Hoffman, radiology administrator for MSU Health Care Incorporated. “The Outpatient Imaging Center represents the continued investment in the health and well-being of the mid-Michigan community and allows us to bring a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services to our patients.”
The new Outpatient Imaging Center will include four wide-bore MRIs, designed with a wider opening that creates more headroom and space around the patient, making for a more comfortable experience with shorter scanning time. The PET and CT scans will also be more efficient, allowing for shorter exam times with improved patient experience.
In addition to the upgraded MRI, PET, and CT scans, the Outpatient Imaging Center will feature low-dose CT scans. These scans use lower levels of radiation to obtain images, reducing the risk of exposure for patients. General X-ray equipment, fluoroscopy, bone density, and ultrasounds will also be upgraded.
“Using the latest advancements in imaging technology will enable us to meet the growing demands of our community and will reduce patient wait times while maintaining exceptional image quality,” said John Kraft, service line director at McLaren Greater Lansing.
Extended hours and weekend appointments will also be available at the Outpatient Imaging Center to accommodate a wide range of schedules and provide flexibility in scheduling imaging services.
