On September 24, 2025, McLaren Greater Lansing held a celebration, cutting the ribbon on the $40 million Grand Ledge Freestanding Emergency Department and medical offices building.
Joined by community leaders, hospital leaders, employees, supporters, and first responders, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by a community open house where guests got a first-hand look through a self-guided tour of the facility, which includes a 24/7 emergency department, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and primary care and specialty offices.
Following more than a year of construction, the facility is nearly complete, and the staff of providers, nurses, and clinical care teams are readying themselves to treat their first patients. A “day in the life” training session also happened on the same day as staff and physicians walked through the facility and went through various scenarios to prepare and get familiar with the new office setting.
Primary care and lab services are set to begin on October 6, while the emergency department and imaging services in the building will open on October 20.
