About McLaren Port Huron Foundation

Since the admittance of the first patient to Port Huron Hospital and Home in 1882, you have come to expect advanced care for your family. Our commitment to you has not changed; we are committed to be your destination for excellence.

From the very beginning, McLaren Port Huron was built by the generosity of philanthropists and we continue to rely on the generosity of community members like you to provide the best care possible, right here at home. Your gifts are vital in accomplishing this mission.

As an entity of McLaren Health Care, McLaren Port Huron is able to remain the nonprofit hospital that you and your family have grown to trust. While McLaren invests in the hospital, there continues to be important projects that need funding from our local community. You can be assured that your contributions will be used for local health services and programs. Your contributions continue to benefit your family and neighbors and are always directed to the purpose you identify. Donations do not leave the community.

    Lynn Griffor, Executive Director

    Lynn joined the staff of the MPH Foundation in April, 2015. In partnership with the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Lynn is responsible for the overall vision, leadership and growth of the organization. She is currently leading the Rising to New Heights capital campaign, a $5 million project to support the Karmanos Cancer Institute and new patient tower at McLaren Port Huron.

    Jamie Guyor, Events

    Jamie is responsible for Foundation events, including the Charity Golf Classic, Festival of Trees and the Signature Cocktail Contest. Combined, these events raise over $200,000 and engage thousands of volunteers and attendees. Jamie also oversees the Cornerstone Club, which recognizes annual donors to the McLaren Port Huron Foundation.

    Heather Hayes, Community Outreach

    Heather oversees the Foundation’s helmet safety and community outreach programs. She works with volunteers throughout St. Clair County to bring programs such as the Marysville Teen Cardiac Screening and the Keep Your Motor Running Men’s Night in Port Huron to over 1,000 residents. Heather is also part of the Employees that Care Committee and helps administer the Betty Kearns Cancer Fund and the Survivorship Fund, both which assist patients being treated for cancer.

    Amy Smith, Donor Services

    Amy serves as the Foundation’s database administrator and donor services coordinator. In her role, Amy handles over 1,000 gifts annually and oversees registration, revenue management, reporting and control systems for all Foundation events. Additionally, Amy manages the ever-growing Guardian Angel program, which connects grateful patients with the caregivers that made a difference during their stay at the hospital.

    Sara Tait, Major Gifts

    Sara is the chief development & donor relations officer for the Foundation. She works with donors that wish to give back to the hospital in a significant way though current or planned gifts. In this role, she oversees the Beacon Society, Heritage Circle and several other high-level committees. Additionally, she manages third-party fundraising events spearheaded by individuals and businesses throughout the region that wish to give back the McLaren Port Huron.
