McLaren Central Michigan Earns Joint Replacement Excellence Recognition

McLaren Central Michigan, part of statewide McLaren Health Care and a 5-star rated hospital by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, has again been recognized for the proficiency of its care by earning a Joint Replacement Excellence Award from Healthgrades, a nationwide leader in consumer health care information and ratings.

The award recognizes hospitals and joint replacement programs that achieve “superior clinical outcomes in knee and hip replacement.”

Measuring and scoring publicly available patient outcome data, as well as other quality metrics in order to objectively evaluate clinical outcomes and patient safety as the basis of its criteria, Healthgrades compared more than 4,400 hospitals across the United States.

The Healthgrades award follows McLaren Central Michigan begin named to Newsweek’s list of “America’s Best In-State Hospitals” for Michigan.

“A recognition placing our hospital among the best in the state is an honor, but it is more so a testament to the level of care provided here every single day,” said Robert David, McLaren Central Michigan President and CEO. “It is an honor and a privilege to work with such an amazing group of employees and providers each day. They work so hard on behalf of our patients. I couldn’t be happier and proud of them to receive this recognition.”

McLaren Central Michigan’s placement on the list ranks it among the top 16 of the state’s 130-plus hospitals.

“Our McLaren facilities’ ranking on this list is a direct reflection of our staffs’ commitment to excellence and their unwavering dedication to their community and providing it with the best care possible,” said Dr. Justin Klamerus, McLaren Health Care Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer. “We are exceptionally proud of these organizations and their hard work and tireless efforts, which make all the difference.”

The McLaren Central Michigan Joint Program aims to provide each patient with a comprehensive experience, with a strong emphasis on education and pre-op preparation through to post-op support that maintains a focus on wellness and recovery, to enhance patients’ outcomes.
