Curriculum

Rotations

All rotations will occur at McLaren Flint with the exception of Surgical ICU and Peds Anesthesia. Please click on the menu below to see the rotations and locations for each year of training.

Resident call shifts begin during the CA-2 year.

Didactics

Initially for Grand Rounds, we will partner with an Anesthesia Residency program at another facility, such as McLaren Oakland. This networking structure will be most beneficial for the residents until we have senior residents in the program.
Mortality & Morbidity conference will be held once per month and will be in a root cause analysis format. Every other month, M & M will be combined with General Surgery for interdepartmental training.

How to Apply

Application Method

McLaren Flint Anesthesiology Residency Program participates in the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) National Resident Match Program (NRMP) and will only accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Paper applications are not accepted. Candidates will not get special consideration by circumventing the process and emailing the program director or graduate medical education coordinator.

Required Documents for Application

MSPE
Three letters of recommendation
Pass/passing scores on the USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 2CS or COMLEX Step 1 and Step 2
Curriculum Vitae
Valid ECFMG certificate, if applicable. Visas are not sponsored.

Selection Process

Applicants are reviewed by the resident recruitment committee; those applicants who meet or exceed our criteria may be considered for an interview.

Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of their preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity.
