McLaren Greater Lansing, part of the statewide McLaren Health Care system, has completed the phased opening of McLaren Grand Ledge, its newly constructed, $40 million multidisciplinary medical campus in Delta Township, with the launch of the township’s freestanding emergency department.
The phased opening was completed at 7 a.m. on Oct. 20, which saw the facility’s freestanding emergency department become fully operational and accept its first patients, significantly enhancing access to timely and potentially lifesaving care for the Delta Township and Grand Ledge communities. This final phase also adds a full complement of diagnostic imaging services, including X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and a mobile MRI.
Located along Saginaw Highway just west of Nixon Road, McLaren Grand Ledge initially opened its doors on Oct. 6, with primary care clinic, a specialty clinic featuring a rotating schedule of specialists in cardiology, and general surgery, along with an onsite lab draw station.
“This marks the completion of a major milestone in our mission to bring high-quality, accessible care closer to home for the residents of Delta Township and surrounding communities,” said Chad Grant, McLaren Health Care Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “With the opening of the Township’s first emergency department, we’re fulfilling our commitment to improve care access and provide compassionate, dignified care when and where patients need it most.”
McLaren Grand Ledge was first announced in spring 2024 and quickly garnered strong support from local leaders and community members. Construction broke ground in June 2024, with the 33,680-square-foot facility including the 8,500-square-foot, 17-bed emergency department.
Future expansion activities will ultimately bring cancer care services from the statewide Karmanos Cancer Network anchored by the world-renowned Karmanos Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center.
