Respectful Care Starts with Understanding

McLaren Health Care's goal is to provide exceptional care to all patients. To better understand and meet the unique needs of our diverse patient population, we recently introduced the collection of SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) information in our patient care settings. What patients share is private and protected by law and only shared with the patient’s health care provider within McLaren. Asking questions about race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity is consistent with our commitment to patient safety, quality, and achieving the best outcomes. By understanding our patients’ unique needs and preferences, we can provide more effective and personalized care.
