Helen M. Nickless Volunteer Clinic

Providing Primary Healthcare to the Uninsured

Twenty years ago, our community came together to raise funds to support a primary healthcare clinic for those who are not insured. To date, 11,000 individuals have sought care resulting in over 33,000 visits.

The Nickless Volunteer Clinic provides free primary healthcare to individuals who are uninsured and underinsured. Lab, x-ray and prescriptions are included. The clinic also assists in applying for health insurance, if eligible.

The typical Volunteer Clinic patient is employed with an average household income of under $15,000 a year. Many are struggling with chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease and hypertension (high blood pressure). They seek services to assist with women’s health issues, depression and anxiety.

The Volunteer Clinic also partners with Community Health to provide education and screenings to all community members regardless of insurance coverage.

Primary healthcare, screenings and health education are vital steps to ensuring that our community members are healthy, productive and happy. Your support of the Helen M. Nickless Volunteer Clinic will help build a strong community.
