Contact your program director, clinical/placement site coordinator or instructor to verify if there is an existing relationship with our Health System that supports your requirement for rotation. Coordination of potential new relationships for experiences at our facility will be facilitated by the identified lead at the college/university program and the clinical liaison at McLaren Northern Michigan.

McLaren Port Huron Internship
Who qualifies for a McLaren Port Huron internship?
To be considered for a student internship at MPH a student must be enrolled in an accredited academic program and the school program must require an internship/externship for graduation and/or credit.

If you are not enrolled in school or don't need an internship for graduation, but would like to gain experience at MPH, please visit our Volunteer Services at LINK (place the volunteer page link in this link) to apply to be a volunteer.
What type of health screen will be required to complete a McLaren Port Huron internship?
In accordance with MPH policy all students/interns will be required to complete a Hep B (if applicable), TB test, flu shot and drug test (at student's expense).
What type of background check will be required to complete a MPH internship?
A background check will be required prior to starting at MPH. A student's school is responsible for providing background clearance to Human Resources.
What is required to be completed by my school before starting an internship?
Each school must sign a legal contract (Affiliation Agreement) outlining the terms and responsibilities of the internship. Human Resources will verify with the student if contract is on file with MPH Risk Management.
Will I have to attend an orientation?
Yes, each student must attend an orientation prior to starting the internship.
Will this be a paid opportunity?
Internships at McLaren Port Huron are unpaid opportunities.
