Jennifer Montgomery, MSA, RN, FACHE,

President & CEO

Jennifer Montgomery was appointed president and CEO of McLaren Port Huron in 2015. From 2011-2015, she served as Vice President of Nursing and Clinical Services at McLaren Port Huron.

As president and CEO, Jennifer is overseeing the hospital’s $162 million master facility expansion, which includes a new 25,000 square foot Karmanos Cancer Institute and a patient tower that features all private rooms; a new emergency center, an expanded intensive care unit; a cardiac interventional suite and four new inpatient operating rooms. She also championed the efforts to earn Level III Trauma Center verification by the American College of Surgeons. These efforts support her vision of continuous improvement around quality, safety and service advancements.

Previously, Jennifer served as Vice President of Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer at Genesys Regional Medical Center, a 410-bed Level II Trauma, teaching hospital. Prior to that, she served in various nursing leadership roles at both Port Huron Hospital and St. John Hospital and Medical Center. She began her career as a staff nurse at Port Huron Hospital in 1993.

Jennifer currently resides in Fort Gratiot.

Bridget Sholtis

Chief Financial Officer

Bridget Sholtis is Chief Financial Officer at McLaren Port Huron, where she oversees management of all financial planning, treasury, budget and financial operations for the hospital system.

Bridget has been with McLaren Port Huron since 1998, most recently as Director of Finance. In this role, she led financial reporting and analysis for the organization, including development and management of capital budgets that have enabled the $162 million hospital campus expansion.

In 2005-2006, Bridget served as Interim Chief Financial Officer, and prior to that, she was a financial analyst. Before coming to McLaren Port Huron, Bridget was a general accounting supervisor at Acheson Industries, Inc.

Bridget has an Associate Degree in Business Administration from St. Clair Community College, a Bachelor of Accountancy from Walsh College of Business, and a Master of Science in Management, also from Walsh. She is a Certified Healthcare Finance Professional and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Bridget and her husband Jeffrey reside in Yale.

Christie Sansom, RN, MSN

Vice President, Nursing Services

Christie Sansom, RN, MSN, is vice president and chief nursing officer at McLaren Port Huron, where she oversees all aspects of Nursing throughout the organization including quality standards, accreditation, and licensing.

Prior to her current role, Christie served as director of Critical Care and Emergency Nursing, director of Medical-Surgical and Nursing Operations, and manager of Selective Care, all at McLaren Port Huron. Before coming to McLaren Port Huron, Christie served in a variety of nursing and nursing management roles at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Port Huron.

Christie earned a Bachelor of Science from Western Michigan University, an Associate Degree in Nursing from St. Clair County Community College, and a Master of Science in Nursing from American Sentinel University.

She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Michigan Organization of Nurse Executives. She also is a board member of the St. Clair County Community College Nursing Advisory and the St. Clair County Medical Control.

Christie and her husband have four children and live in Port Huron.

Michael Tawney, DO

Vice President of Medical Affairs

Dr. Michael Tawney joined McLaren Port Huron as Interim Medical Director in January 2008. He accepted the permanent position of Vice President of Medical Affairs in November 2008. He brings his extensive experience as a hospital executive and medical doctor.

Prior to joining McLaren Port Huron in 2008, Dr. Tawney served as Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer for the McLaren Macomb hospital; part of the then seven-hospital McLaren Health Care Corporation. He has also served in administrative positions at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center, and in its former corporate form, as Mount Clemens General Hospital. As a practicing physician, Dr. Tawney served in Mount Clemens General Hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Family Practice. During his tenure, he served as Chief of Staff, as Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, and as Chairman of the Department of Family Practice.

Dr. Tawney is board-certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, and is a Fellow with the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree at the University of Des Moines, Iowa. He received his residency training in orthopedic surgery and served his medical internship at Mount Clemens General Hospital.

Dr. Tawney enjoys golf, skiing, and tennis. He and his wife Rosanna have three sons. They live in Clinton Township.
