Patient and Visitor Information

Patient & Visitor Information

McLaren Port Huron welcomes visitors to the hospital. Visiting guidelines include:

  • Visitation hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • No visitors are allowed for patients with pending or positive COVID-19 tests, including in the Emergency Room.
  • Visitation for patients in droplet or airborne precautions (due to a respiratory illness) is limited — visitors must be over 5 years old and able to wear a mask at all times while in the patient's room. The patient will also be required to be masked while visitors are present.
  • Visitors should remain with the patient in their room, unless asked otherwise by the clinical team.
  • All visitors will be screened when entering the hospital to verify they do not have signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Visitors must wear a mask at all times and should remain with the patient, unless asked otherwise by the clinical team.
Other exceptions or clarifications include:
  • Mental Health: Visiting hours are Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m. One visitor per patient is allowed and all visitors must be over 18.
  • Acheson Family Birth Place: We request that obstetrical patients have the same 2 visitors for labor, delivery and the first 3 hours of recovery after delivery. The support person may stay the night to help care for mom and baby. After delivery (3 hours after the baby is born), if the patient desires, they may have 2 visitors at a time in addition to the support person. Siblings of new babies are welcome to visit between 6 and 8 p.m. Other children under 18 are not permitted.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are still required for everyone (patients, visitors and staff) in the health care setting, as we continue to provide a safe environment for patients with compromised immune systems.
